Interoperability has gained prominence among software users who frequently navigate multiple applications to complete workflows. NV5 Geospatial and Esri have collaborated to enhance interoperability between image processing and GIS software through ENVI and ArcGIS, respectively. As image processing becomes integral to GIS workflows, these technologies are seamlessly integrating.
This integration allows ENVI-based image processing functionalities to be directly accessed from Arc Toolbox and ArcGIS Model Builder. Additionally, ENVI tools for ArcGIS facilitate the creation of enterprise or web-based services using ArcGIS Server and ENVI for ArcGIS Server. Such improved interoperability boosts productivity reduces training needs for multiple software packages and justifies investment costs.
